Let me just say that I did not start this race feeling like a steller mountain biker. When my brother Ryan suggested we ride in the Vail Teva games in the beginner bracket, I thought that could be fun and doable, how hard could a 'beginner' race be. My thoughts quickly changed halfway through the first lap from how fast can I push myself to can I even finish this race? After a grueling 2,000 foot climb in elevation over 9 miles, I was graced at the finish line with the best fans a guy could have! My wife surprised me with the whole family wearing these shirts! What a great woman she is, and what a great inspiration to me. I had to finish the race now. Not only did I finish but did so without crashing, and wasn't even last person across the finish line, that was a win for me. It turned out to be a great birthday ride in a beautful mountian town, and some great company (My family of course, my mom and dad, my brother Ryan and wife Jess with their kids, and my brother Brandt) Thanks everyone!

I was absolutely starving after the race, my parents took us to a great restaurant in Vail. They took us to celebrate my birthday, because yes, the race was on my birthday too...

Random thoughts

I ate the biggest hamburger for dinner… Coby was amazed that I devoured that sucker… it was so good… maybe it’s the reason I’m still awake.

Some people, I have thought sometimes, although they are awesome and smart and incredible people whom I love, I’ve thought maybe they ask so many opinions, or speak out so much about what they are doing because they don’t have confidence in their own decisions… I was just thinking… too, that most of them have a lot of responsibility in their church callings… maybe I’m thinking about myself too. You know, with all the responsibility it’s soooo hard to have confidence in my decisions… maybe that’s a reason why we are called to where we are, because we don’t believe we can do it right… or hardly ever do for that matter…I guess maybe that helps things run with everyone’s input… all I know for a fact is that I am so grateful for friends (one in particular) who always tells me I’m doing good, and that everything is going great, even though I’m probably making the whole program fail! Thanks L#*%*@, you keep me grounded when all I see is failure in my particular calling...

You know, I love my kids… as much as I love my amazing husband… more than my life.

In fact did you know that I used to pray for my husband? That he would make the right choices in order to be a good father someday…? Wow, did my prayers from my teens ever get answered or what?! He’s awesome! He came home tonight… bustin at the seems to work on something for his future dream… but, what he said was “who wants to play Hide and Seek?!” and of course they all came running… I said “you don’t have to do that, they need to take a bath, and I’ll do that…” He said “But, I want to.” ~It’s those “little” things that are the big things to me.

Oh, and I used to pray for my kids too, that they’d know that I couldn’t wait to meet them, and that they’d know I’d love them soooo much… good thing I said it then, cuz it’s hard to remember it sometimes! Like when I’m wiping a booger off the fridge from my 3 year old… who does that? Gross. (did you know that Booger is not in spell check? Boogey is, but not booger…)

I had a soda tonight… it was delicious… orange crush, it made me feel young and naïve. Naïve to the fact that it’s not going to go straight to my butt, and to the fact that it’s not going to hamper my oxygen intake, of which I’ve been working hard on with all the cardio I do lately… and naïve to the fact that it’s not rotting my teeth… It was just good, that’s all.

It’s 3:16 am for the 4^th night in a row, and I can’t sleep. Oh, how I want too (and no babies are keeping me up, wish they were, I'd so rather be cuddling with one of them)

Come on. I feel like I work hard enough during the day… my body owes me a good night’s sleep…

While I’m up… here’s a little secret. I got Coby 3 bags of Butterfinger hearts for Valentines day. 2 of them made it till the day before… and he thinks I only got him one, cuz I had them in the car, and ate one whole bag while driving everywhere that day! AND: of the one bag I was able to give him, I’ve now eaten more than half of it, in fact I think he only has 4 left!

(and they are the big bags…!) Hey, fair game, when I gave them to him in the cheesy heart tin with his gift, I TOLD him to hide them. He was warned.

I laughed so hard a while back when Brian Regan (comedian) talked about the snooze button on our alarms...
"why not start the day with a little procrastination?!"
Now I think of that and smile every time I hit the snooze button (like 7X) every morning.

This is part of my "job"!

Ok, went to the store, well a couple stores, my total was 215.12... but, what I spent was 67.44!!! BooYah... and I got good stuff, Ritz, chex mix, milk, tons of bread, cheese, goldfish, chicken nugs, potatoes, soda, OREOS, valentines chocolate, poptarts, soup, frozen veggies, ETC.... Here's my trick... I get three Denver Posts each week, just for the coupons, and they were good on Sunday... if anyone wants a subscription you can get one for 1 dollar a week for each subscription THROUGH ME... LET ME KNOW! So, I pay 12 bucks a month, but, I wash that amount in one trip to the store, and save tons on top of that! (PS: I pay for 6 mos at a time, so 36.00 bucks each sub.)

Dating Days...

Our Story.

Coby and I met at the UofU. On campus. We passed each other at 5:15, no one was around... I was getting off work, he was heading to play basketball. He was on his phone, I was tired. We didn't speak to each other, just passed by.
My thoughts: "He's cute, and seems so normal. But, he's probably talking to his girlfriend on the phone..."
so I kept walking.
His thoughts: "ugh, I should've just hung up." (he then turned around to talk to me, but, I kept walking)
he then went home that night and said to his roommates: "I saw the perfect girl for me today."

The very next day:

Literally, he ran up to me and started conversation.

I had left a class early to make it for a test in another class clear across campus. He was down in that area for free donuts due to student elections.

Disclamer: we never ran into each other on campus, before that, nor after that, our classes were in totally seperate areas, and we couldn't even work it to meet for lunch when we were dating...)

He said: "Hey, you look familiar, we've met before..."
I said: "Really?... Nice line..."
Both laughed.
I actually asked him to give me a call so we could figure it out, because I was interested, and in a huge hurry to get to my class...

That is not the end of the story...

Wednesday night... two nights later, when I came out from the Temple I had 11 messages on my phone...
one of them was Coby. His was the only one I called back, because when I heard his voice on his message, my heart skipped... (cheesy, I know...but, true)
We talked for a while and here's part of the conversation: (don't worry, it's good)...

C: "yeah, I served a mission in the philippeans"
B: "Oh, really? so do you speak Tagalog or Cebuano?"
C: " I speak Tagalog. and how funny, you are the second person who pronounced that correctly, most people say it how it is spelled..."
(I'm thinking, huh, it must be difficult, cuz he's not the 1st person who said that to me..."
C: "you served a mission? Where?"
(I had been home for 3.5 mos at this time)
B: "I served in the Anofagasta, Chile Mission"
C: "you know, I don't even know where that is, but, I met someone else recently who went there, that's funny..."
B: " hmmmf, how funny."

Here's the good part: We discovered on our first date, through talking about other people we knew that WE HAD ALREADY MET... and it was 2 months earlier... I was dating this guy who has a sister that always talked about this awesome boy she wanted to date, so we did a group date with her and him.
He showed up in a UofU sweatshirt, and he was so good looking, and we ended up talking a lot that night...
about our missions.
(while we talked I thought "this is the type of guy I want to date...what am I doing?..." and I broke up with my boyfriend that weekend)
Anyway, if it wasn't clear, my boyfriends' sisters' date was...
Coby.
(funny situation at our wedding...cuz we invited them...)
~and he still has that sweatshirt, and it's my favorite one, and I've had to mend it a few times already in order to keep it around... (did I just say "mend" ?.... ok, grandma...)

So, I was the second person, and he was the other person we had been talking about concerning our missions!

K~ on Saturday we went on our 1st date...

He took me to some mexican restaraunt with his friend John and some girl in Provo.
We had a "Seinfield" experience there: where Coby went to the bathroom and one of the cooks was in there and didn't wash his hands when he left! Gross!
At dinner I blurted out something (because, as anyone knows, I'm not the most tactful person alive)
something like "man, I feel like I've known you forever, I'm so comfortable with you!"
His buddy John looked at me like I was crazy, and gave Coby the "wierdo" eye... but, later Coby told me, it wasn't wierd to him, cuz he felt the same way...

Our Funny 1st Date Story:

We then went to "Extreme Sports" it was a huge place with tons of activities... ropes course, boxing ring, rope pull and bounce, javeling... it was so fun...
We did boxing towards the end of the night...
The huge boxing gloves were so hard for me to hold in my right hand because I injured my shoulder the saturday before while snowboarding, so lifting it up -hurt... let alone while holding onto a huge, heavy boxing glove, I mean, it was the size of my garbage can...
I told him this, while in the ring...
He got closer to my right shoulder and said "oh, that's too bad" and acted like he was going to look at it..
then as I looked down at my right shoulder too...
He decked me in the face! and threw my flying...!!!
I was so stunned and laughing so hard I had tears!
(he later told me that because I was laughing he knew I could handle him.... crazy kid)

We saw each other every day since then, and found other circumstances and ways that our paths had crossed through other people as well...

Ok, actually, we saw each other every day until we'd been dating 5 months... he went home to Denver and didn't invite me to go...
(I'd been already 2x with him to meet and visit his family, who I thought, and still think is awesome!)
So, I was a little bummed that he just up and went and barely told me he was going...
no big deal though.

A couple weeks later we started school again, I was totally stretched with time and energy, I worked full time and had a full load of classes... so I was thinking since we hadn't even talked about the {M} word that I needed a break... and I was going to break up with him on our hike we had planned for that Saturday...
We hiked 4 hours in to this awesome lake... but, the hike was a little long so I laid down on a rock by the lake... he went to use the bathroom...
Then he shouted "hey, come check this out!"
(I thought maybe he saw a moose, because we were just talking about how he'd never seen one...)
I caught up to him... he pointed under a huge log and said, "I found something, but I can't reach it, maybe you can..."
I reached in and pulled out a black box.
"What?! somebody left their box!" I laughed... "how funny" and I shrugged my shoulders...
Then he said "open it.."
Then my heart stopped... open it? why? My eyes were probably going to pop out of my head now!
(here comes another tactless reaction on my part..)
"Shut up! You open it!"   Then I pushed him!
He took the box and bounced down on one knee...

{Surprise} of my life...

                                                                       ** 8 Years, 4 kids (5 and under), 8 Utah football seasons, 2546 dirty diapers, 30,001,234 hours of deprived sleep, 1 apt, 1 condo, 1 house, 2 cars, a bachelors degree, a doctorate degree and 16 slices of delicious cheesecake factory dessert (tradition) and 800 surprises later...

and he still makes me laugh ALL THE TIME!

HA! That's just how rail thin this mega eater is! (I'm not being sarcastic, he eats all day long!)

Our very OWN garden:
Here's the story behind our garden:
It didn't grow at all the first year.
or the second.
The third ~ I dug it out by 2 feet (yes all of it, and yes I was pregnant with Berklie) It is 12x15 feet.
I then had 2 feet worth of garden soil brought in, after I lined it like you would a garden box (we had tree roots coming up from the ground choking out our garden)
Then I put all the previously dug out dirt back in the garden.
All by myself. Coby then tilled it, and nourished it and composted it. It was amazing. I canned 30 pints of tomatoes, 16 pints of salsa, the boys got their pumpkins from our own patch, and we had zucchini taking over our counter tops, and garage shelves!
This year I also canned 40 quarts of Peaches, 9 Quarts of Apple Pie filling and 17 Quarts of Applesauce.
(Kacey got all my apples for me, seriously, she picked 6 bags of apples for us! She also taught me how to CAN... so much patience!) I also froze 15 jars of Strawberry jam, 12 jars of Apricot jelly, and 3 Quart bags of Peaches for smoothies... Coby makes the best peach berry smoothie. (and my friend Leslie makes the best Peach shakes, she calls them smoothies, only to make us all feel better about drinking a ton of her concoctions!)
We also have a huge strawberry patch, thanks to my friend Dawnee, who came and planted 50% of it while I was gone! What a great surprise that was two summers ago, and now we reap the rewards...

If I could have an assistant

So, She is officially my personal assistant. When her and Robbie came to visit (see the following post that she even wrote!) she was on top of doing all the things for me that I never get to myself. I am always preoccupied with the boys and baby that I forget stuff for myself, she was sticking flowers in my hair, handing me gum, getting me water, and tending to the child that was on hold at any given time, since with 4 someone is always on hold. She is amazing, I just feel bad cuz I can't pay her what she is worth.
(She makes great money as a legal and personal assistant to two lawyers, and is really good and professional at it.)

PS: I'd have more posts of all the funny stuff that goes on around here if I really had an assistant!

Robbie and I had so much fun visiting our friends in Grand Junction.
They are TOO good to us, and their kids are just so cute!
Brandy is amazing and makes motherhood look so easy!
I wish we still lived close to them. The weekend was adventured packed!

So, the other day Coby says:
"Babe, do you know what this stuff is on the floor of the garage?"
I said:
"Nope..." "Boys, does anyone know what this is, did someone spill something in here?"
(I really didn't expect a logical or honest response from 2, 4, and 5 year olds...)
But, Quint shrugged up his shoulders and with a no nonsense tone he said:
"Yeah, I peed on the tire..."

(Duh...)

Preface:
Yes, I have had my boys pee on the tire in a parking lot, on occasion, after I had packed all 4 young kids back into the car from being in the store too long, and then one says, "I have to pee!"

So, of course, I was laughing hysterically, and Coby looked on confused and disgusted.

Coby had the opportunity to attend a Physical Therapy Summit (Training Conference) in Florida this last weekend and he invited Berklie and me to go with him, and when I said I couldn't leave the boys he told me he'd already talked to his parents about taking care of them in Denver... wow! We are so grateful to Coby's mom and dad for taking such good care of the boys while we were on this trip... (except it made them not want to come home with us after! they absolutely loved it there!)

We stayed in a hotel right on the beach, I mean literally we walked out of our hotel, across the HUGE pool area and onto the beach...barefoot! It was awesome!
Berklie loved the Beach, she was just so content and happy... and ate her fair share of sand!

She also did awesome on the plane... she didn't really sit in this chair, except to wait for takeoff, (everyseat was full) and we just loved to have time to just hold her... that doesn't happen too much during the day around our house!

It's the ONLY day, I don't feel guilty for anyone in my family doing something for me.

(don't get me wrong, I couldn't do this whole Motherhood thing with 4 little ones, if it weren't for Coby, and he takes good care of all of us. and my kids, are awesome... they all do stuff all the time for me to try to alleviate the heavy pressure of being mom, however, on Mothers day, I don't feel guilty for letting them do it (It = dishes, diapers, or any dirty work.)

He Turned 4, can you believe it! He has always been our kid with the biggest and most articulate vernacular, and now he cracks me up all the time!

The boys had their first "Friend" Birthday Party.

We combined their friend party because they have mostly the same friends at this age (4 and 5).

They chose Chuck E. Cheese... so fun.

My mom came out and helped with everything and they loved it, they thought it was a party all weekend! Thanks mom! They got presents in the mail from Grams and Poppy, Aunt Cristy and Cassy, Grandpa George and Grammy and Nanna and Macey, Connor, Jolie and Tanner and Ava... Thank you all for making their Birthdays so fun and exciting! They love getting stuff in the mail!

1)He organizes his toys and keeps them well hidden (sometimes in his footed

2)He's very technical. ("you forgot the outline, mom, but, that's ok")

3) He's a very hands on learner (I explain something a thousand times over, but, as soon as he does it, or sees me do it, he will then explain it to me, as if he just discovered something I didn't know!)

4) He's always been the compassionate one (He is his brother's and sister' keeper... too much so sometimes)

5) His reward and punishment is TIME. (loves having dude time with mom and dad, watching football, is his favorite...and he can't stand being ignored or disappoint us.)

He still has that amazing laugh!

(Yes, I brokedown on the Spongebob party, he wanted it.. funny thing is he never watches Spongebob, doesn't know anything about the show, which is encouraged... he just wanted to party Spongebob style...maybe it's the silly eyes that spell F-U-N to him!)

Some funny things he's said lately:

~while running down the small incline at the Idaho Falls Temple he said "I'm going down da hell! (hill)"

~Middle of the Night potty run he says nonchalantly, "I'm going potty everyone!"

~Thinking everyone just keeps growing he said "mom, what does Jesus do with u when you grow huge, huge like a huge giant?" (following that with a conversation about why we don't see all these giant people)

~About Santas Elves "what are those green things with Santa, like goblins?"

"mom, check out all my coupons, (they were chuckycheese ones), can we go to Kaceys n I will show her how much coupons I have!" (Kacey is our coupon queen bff)

We love him so so so much, and we are so proud of Keedon! He keeps us laughing and is a big helper, especially when we don't ask him to be, they are his proudest moments, and mine too!

Baby girl Jones (name still to be determined of course) was born at 12:39 pm Nov. 10, 2009. And as poppy would say she's "Perfect" actually that's what the nurse said too. She was 7 lbs 8.9 ozs 19 inches long. Has good color, eating and enjoying being cuddled. We at this point don't think she looks too much like any of the other kids, but beautiful in her own way. After her first bath we will post some pictures.

I was in the office, and I thought, hmmm, they are playing so good together, cuz they were, so I spent ten minutes to make my shopping list, cuz I hate missing something and having to go back to the store... I think I'd rather just have to go back next time...

I always said I wasn't going to do it, but, this deal was one of my best...

This year the reunion was in Utah, and it was full of fun activities... ones that dated back to when Coby was a boy... like searching through hay (or fluff) for toys and MONEY!

and then the next day Coby's Aunt Joy and Uncle Jerry arranged for us all to do indoor skydiving, which even the boys did!

I was so proud of Quint, he was the first LITTLE kid to say he wanted to do it!

Everyone thinks so, even us... He is REALLY good at smoothin us over when he gets in trouble.

We should call him M&M, cuz he's the Mastermind of Mischief in our house!

Tin Can Fort:

Now this was done after a long hard day of canning my last 3 month supply of food storage for this year (which makes us almost caught up! yeah...) Coby and I stacked all the cans in seperate categories and labeled and inventoried all of the cans, but, it'd gotten late and Quint had to go to bed, and through his room is our storage room, we thought he wouldn't mind if our stacks of cans lined the wall in his room while he slept... he didn't. He just reorganized them all into this little fort and took off over half the labels, in this photo you can only see the top layer of the 8 layers of his "stickers" on his legs... we found all of this in the morn, when he came up to use the bathroom...

The Bathroom:

These pics speak for themselves... but, just to clarify why you shouldn't ask, "where's the supervision in this house?" Quint was suppose to be in bed. He has to go past our bedroom and bathroom in order for us to know that he's even awake. (we now lock the door, but it took a few incidents like this one to remind us to lock it)

Like: when we went in to go to bed and he had already retired after painting our counters and mirror with my makeup... I found him sleeping with blackness smeared all over his face and arms.

or when we have found all of our clothes (we have a shelfed closet system) piled in the middle of the closet on top of the huge pile of shoes...

or when we found that he had painted the bathtub with fingernail polish.

and PS: there is a door to our patio from our bathroom (that's when and where he got to our plants... keep reading.... when he's suppose to be sleeping)

Now, these pics were after I started cleaning up the mess, there were probably 60 little plants and all their finely nurtured soil laying around him before I decided I should go get the camera...

I seeded all the plants to our garden this year.... 7 weeks of taking them in at night and then out to get the morning sun in the morning... 7 weeks of watering, and babying and teaching these little boys to not touch them...(not to mention, I saved the stupid little baby food cups for the whole winter before that!) 7 weeks, all over my patio.

Here's my Meager attempt at June an July updates... what month is it now, again? The end of August...?! What the.... where did it come from? So, this pregnancy feels like my longest, but this has definitely been my shortest summer!

But, here is what my newest hobby has been, since it seems I develop a new one every summer that I've been married... big ones.

So, I know I sound nerdy, not nerdier than 2 summers ago when I grew to like canning!... but, my friend Kacey has helped me profoundly to coupon shop, which actually isn't nerdy, it's ridiculously smart.

Now, I can not do as much as her, she is determined, and I thought I was, so we get along awesome! But, I can follow a little of what she has done, and now I have a routine of my own...

and we are saving 150-200 dollars a month! and on top of keeping our fridge and pantry full of things we would've never afforded before, we have 3 huge storage shelves of everyday food storage and two shelves of toiletry and cleaning supplies.... and that's on top of the savings, not additional spending!

Last night, we went to the store together cuz we had to be out of our house, and between Coby and I we filled my cart and half of his with groceries, and our total bill came to 151.27 and we paid 35.00 bucks out of pocket! That is actually not even my great savings trip!

Last week:

I filled my cart, my total was 179.00 and after coupons I spent 36 bucks!

and the week before:

my total was 135.00 and I spent 17.00 and walked away with 14 (yes, 14) gallons of milk future coupons (called Catalina's), so 14 free milks, to buy when I needed!

and in between my grocery shopping, I hit up the stores that I am near when I am out, (of course after researching Kaceys site and printing coupons) and 4 weeks ago, my total came to 109.00 and I spent .04 cents and got a 25.00 dollar rebate to use next time... so major overage, and I filled our toiletry supplies for the next two years!

So, anyway, it took me a long time to do it, but, now that I am, I spend an hour a week on coupon cutting and planning and an hour shopping at one store, that's the routine that works for me.... and I was the one that would say, "oh that's great, but I am not taking 3 kids coupon shopping, and I just can't dedicate that time..." so seriously, she spent 3 months convincing me...and now if I had more time (and sometimes I find it, I will hit up the other stores for free stuff!) It's such a fun challenge, and what I love about it most is it feeds my frugal mania appetite!

Today, just a second ago I turned over the calendar from June!

Granted, I use my blackberry for all of my scheduling, however, my calendar was neglected due to the fact that I just realized it's the middle of July already!

I can't believe how fast time flies when we are so busy! Sometimes when I watch my kids play imaginary games or swim in the little play pool out back, it seems that they think time is all they have. Wow, even I remember that. Now, it seems that for me, time is my most precious and expensive commodity.

My dad always says: "time is money"... it's true, but, I think now, every second, that it's even more valuable than that! Especially when I watch my kids grow so fast... the only way I can freeze frame them and keep them little is take pictures.

This has been such a fun summer, and I can't wait to upload pics of it...

Someday, when we aren't having so many adventures. Or maybe just when I am not too tired to stay up all night to update our blog!

Cheerios in the toilet

So, our friend Robbie Fewkes gave us the great idea to put cheerios in the toilet for our boys to aim at when we potty trained them... Darcy (his wife) just reminded me of that trick, in our comments of the toilet post and it also reminded me of what happened when we tried it...
Keedon tried to aim, it was cute. The bowl of cheerios just got eaten by Quinton, and the ones that survived were dropped in the toilet by our observant Cambel, then fished out by his hands and eaten.
Not to mention, Keedon still couldn't get that first shot in the toilet to get the dumb cheerio!

We were outside playing while Coby was trimming the bushes in the back... it was such nice weather, and all of a sudden Quint got tagged in the head with something, and Coby thought it was a stick from the bush... but then, within a second the sky started nailing us with huge hail! Um. Yeah. This isn't a pic I'm so proud of, in fact, I don't want anyone to see grime in my house, let alone me! However, as shocked and relieved as I am, I had to share.

This bathroom is shared by my two little peeing toddlers, and it is the cleanest bathroom in Grand Junction, because it gets cleaned EVERY day, and the toilet sometimes multiple times a day. You would do the same if you had two little wienies pointed not so sharply at the pot... speaking of that, Keedon, no matter how hard he points his down, the first shot always hits the back of the toilet... so, I am cleaning the bathroom way more than I ever thought I would, in one day.

However, I've had this super sensitive nose and tummy lately, and I can't stand that I can still sometimes get a whiff of urine from that particular room.

So, today as I wickedly cleaned the toilet, I pulled up on the cloth that got stuck to this feature on the toilet and it popped open... and lo and behold, I found the source of the smell.

So, just so you know, this part on the toilet comes open... I don't recommend opening it, unless you smell something and have about 10 Qtips to spare, it's gross.

Bye Bye urine smell.

For those that don't know, Coby's sister Amberlyn is on the BYU Ballroom Dance team (and just found out she just made the more advanced team, congrats Amber!) Anyway, back in March I was able to take a girls weekend with her and Coby's mom and Valerie, and well both Chase's too, and go watch her compete in DanceSport 2009... It was soooo fun! She did so well, and really stood out among her competitors! We are so proud of her! and she does her own hair... beautiful.

This little Guy is already 3!? You would never know by looking at his little frame, but, as soon as he starts talking, you hear the maturity in his knowledge packed, full on sentences... Quint has always had a big vocabulary, he may be a little quiet, but, he's got it in him!

3 things we Love about Quinton:

1) He is always trying to make us laugh....and if we don't he points out that it's a joke!

2) He is always moving, he CANNOT sit still, he can't even walk in a straight line!

3) He is our extreme sports guy, he will try everything, and he'll do it until he's good at it!

We love you Quinton!

and since Coby just had surgery (on his birthday) and I had a serious case of morning sickness, he got to go to Bananas (a fun park) with some of our friends (for their daughters bday, but, he thinks it was for him!)

Our Big Birthday tradition that the boys absolutely love is going with Dad early in the morning and choosing donuts for everyone! Quinton loved it this year.... he took forever to decide! (does that sound like a Jones boy or what!?)

I just can not believe he is four... I still see that little monkey face that I held in my arms when he was an infant and I have to do a double take everytime he talks to me like a cute little man!

For their birthdays we always have a family day, and this year Keedon chose to go to a big playgym called Kidzplex, and for his birthday dinner he chose Pizza from Ceasers and Fruit Salad (it's a recipe I make with oreos, that he loves!)

He was so excited to open his presents! It's funny, he gets some cute wrapped gifts and usually the only one he is SOOOOO excited to open is the box package from his Grandpa George and Grammy, who are in Montana, These packages are always so fun and thrilling to open, that when they come in the mail the boyz just hover around it, until it's time to open it!

Miso Soup

Miso was the size of an oreo cookie when I adopted him off the streets of NYC in August 1998.

We've been through a lot together, I mean 12 Years! He watched me grow a lot, he didn't grow so much cuz I only fed him when I remembered to!

The kids have a blast with him, actually, we LOVE him.

(I love him because of how low maintenance he is!)
Keedon was his guardian...and loves him!

Cambel loves holding him, and you can't get the smile off his face when Miso is out and about...But, Quinton, he won't touch him and it took a lot of coaxing to get him this close! But, Quint's job was feeding Miso, he loves feeding him!

But, now, after all these years and memories, we have to say goodbye.

Not that I want to get sappy over a turtle, (on a blog, nonetheless), but, I am really sad, dang it! I miss him already, and I feel like a part of me is gone, or buried, I guess... What?! It's a turtle!

Ok, so knowing how I felt when we did our little "Office" rendition of a funeral for him, (Keedon even sang him a song: Twinkle Twinkle little Star, it was sweetly funny)

My Stinky Day

Ok, so I started this post, and only got the title done... that's how busy my days have been lately, I have so many things to update... but, here's a run down of my stinky day:
Part 1
Ok, so in the morning I was out cleaning some stuff up in the yard because it was soooooo windy, and I am seriously talking, I was out there for 5 minutes when I came inside to this....
Keedon and Quinton were in my bedroom, naked (Quint wears diapers) and Cambel was in the kitchen sucking on a huge piece of Chocolate. Chocolate? Where'd he get that chocolate? It wasn't chocolate... Apparently, Quint took his stinky diaper off and thinking he was helping, put it on the kitchen counter and in doing so dumped out (no pun intended) some big chunkys. Needless to say, I scooped up all the boys, put them in the bath, threw the clothes in the washer and cleaned the floor.
Part 2
"Bathtimes are a waste of time"
So, I get my cute Cambel out of the bathtub and lotion him down and put clean cute clothes on him, (Tanners old sweatshirt), and before I could stand up to distract him with toys he pukes all over himself! and it was the color brown... sick!... hmmm, what was that from? New bath, new clothes and a nap later, he was eating a banana, and let me preface with: Cambel is the cleanest eater I've had so far, he usually just gets it in his belly. Not today, he smeared banana all through his hair and on the back of his neck. Why did I give him a bath?
and Why'd I give Keedon one?
Part 3
So, I can tell Keedon is so tired, but the boys won't nap together they just play, and after an hour of this I seperated them, and a little while later Keedon comes out of the office saying he needs to go stinky but doesn't want me to see it... (so I know something's goin' down, don't think I don't Keedon) So, after he'd been in the bathroom for a few, I go in to find this; stinky on the floor, the stool the toilet, and all up and down his legs.... and the toilet was full of a rolls worth of toilet paper! Apparently he hadn't made it to the bathroom in time and that sucker roared it's ugly head beforehand... and he was so responsible to want to clean it up for me. Thanks.
That was my stinky day. It didn't stink, this stuff is just a variation of the norm, it just was stinky stuff.
So, amidst all of this, I have like, 80 projects goin right now, and do you think I touched any of them today, no. Ok, well, one, I reconfigured all the outside Christmas lights to one outlet, cuz we have a timer on it, and I guess I burned out the lights. So, all those hours of untangling lights from around the boys who wrapped themselves up in them, while we were hanging them all over the yard the other day, is chalked up as just a fun day.
I do think all of this in funny, but it did warrant a pizza night.
Let me see if I can end with some kind of a cute, witty quote, .... nope.
I am just glad I can go to bed now... at midnight, again.

We have other favorite things too, but, those are the important ones.

So, we went Trick or Treating to our neighbors, who took our pics and loaded the boys up with Candy...then we took the boys to a neighborhood where a couple houses were decked out with Halloween Garb, and they were so nervous to walk up the pathway surrounded by all the spooky things that we forced them up to get their treats... and Keedon made the guy come down to his level to tell him that his house was too scary.

Quinton walked around for a week and all night on Halloween saying "Trick or Treat, gimme yo candy, .....Thank you for gibben me candy"*(~ he said it into thin air...) it was so cute, he is our treat tyrant so, I know it was inbred in him to practice for this 'night of all treat nights'!

They were seriously so cute walking around with their huge muscles and dragging their little Halloween treats cuz they were too heavy!

We had so much fun that night...

The week of Halloween was also a blast, the boys had some kind of party everyday that they had to wear their costume to...

Music Makers:This is Abbey and Cambel, they were hugging and tearing at each others costumes the whole time, (hope that's not indicative of his future, I mean, I know she's cute an' all).

Oh, we had so much fun for this little boys birthday, mostly cuz, it's always a party at our house anyway, so we just threw some balloons in and some treats and sang a song and it was a riot!

Cambel knew it was his birthday all day. He thought everything should be in his hands and didn't want to take a nap and ate cupcakes like he couldn't get them in his tummy fast enough!

Keedon just kept hugging him and saying 'Happy Birthday Cambel" and Quinton just wanted the cake all day.

It was such a fun day and Daddy even got off of work early and surprised us all and that made it so much more fun!

We love this little guy and we are so thrilled he muscled his way through to be with us at this time in our lives... he is such a blessing, and we can definately tell he is strong willed, he came with that.

We are also so blessed to family and friends that sent/brought presents for him!

Keedon and Quinton especially loved teaching him how to unwrap everything!

I have always loved fall. It's when all the goodies come out, and all the colors change and my life seems to brighten up... Love it. We can't stop playing in the leaves, it's so fun, and their laughter is so cute, it's theraputic!
(and the boys love it cuz of their new 4-wheeler they inherited from their uncle Jake! and their airplane that Gramps and Grammy inherited from a careless company!)

The other day I was running around everywhere, and thinking I can't believe how many commitments and responsiblilies I have lately on top of these three great things that have all these little hands, and needs and wants and demands.
So, this is my life, I am trying to carry an armful of those packing peanuts (each one representing an aspect of my life) and I just can't seem to keep them from falling out of my arms, as I am trying so hard to hang on to all of them and I'm constantly saying, as they are constantly falling out of my arms, "Ok, I can let that one go, or that one, and ok, maybe I'll pick those ones up later."
Well, who knows what will become of my life,
But, right now all I care about is what will become of theirs.
(in case you're wondering whose, um, my boys, including Coby.)

PS, so if I haven't called you back, call me back, and maybe you'll have to a couple times, and if I haven't called you at all, it doesn't mean I don't care about you, it means someone has my phone in their mouth or their pocket.

Tanner Cornum

So we love having Tanner come over to our house, and we love hangin' out with his parents almost as much as he loves tackling Keedon! What a cute kid, he just has so much Love. (Cuz, he comes from a great family).

So this month the highlight is definately Cambel's independence... oh man that kid gets around and is also very vocal if he wants something...
Here's what he's been up to...

Still eatin' rocks...

and always the ladies man... every week in Young Womens, the girls start arguing over who's gonna hold him... but, Mindy or Julie (our leaders) always get him... and they have the touch, he loves them!
Here's the boys with their Halloween garb on from Grams and Poppy, they sent such a fun package to them, we miss having them here this year for Halloween!

Coby had a ton of Scouting events this month... including Lain's Eagle Court of Honor

and Kacey took us to a farm by her house to gather eggs and see the turkeys... (right after she had a baby... she's a mover and a shaker) the boys loved it!

Kacey and Tannerand the boys still can't wait for dinner to be done!How do I get them from hovering in the kitchen!?

Fall in Ouray

We got to go to Ouray to watch Sunday conference and it was so beautiful up there! But, of course the Broncos game was on after Conference, so you know what these boys were doing! Quinton caught his FIRST FISH!

Keedon also caught his FIRST FISH!

Cambel just wanted to touch the fish, so I held him the whole time!

Oh, my gosh, they are so cute! I just love 'em!

September's updates

Since I can't manage to update this thing anymore... you know, I used to have sit down time with Cambel... but, not anymore... now I have to set aside time for this... huh...like that's gonna happen very much more... I just keep telling myself... posterity, it's for posterity...

So anyway, here goes...

I realized the boys needed a haircut when Quinton woke up super happy like this...

So we opened a Haircut StudioOne weekend we played Volleyball with some friends and the kiddos at the park...

Keedon started Preschool.. He loved it! Somehow I lost his poser pic (dang it) but here are the

bros saying goodbye!

Cambel turned 10 months old and his bros think they can tackle him now, well, not that they didn't try before, he's not sure about it.

The boys taught their youngest brother the ropes when they were suppose to be getting dressed.

Keedon put together his first puzzle all by himself

My boys made me breakfast for my birthday

and then they attacked the package my dad and Amy sent me, I kept telling them it was mine, but, they didn't listen. It was such a fun package! She always makes it fun for them too!
and I seriously had the best birthday cuz it was a Cheesecake birthday, thanks to my Dad and Amy, who surprised me with a huge delicious chocolate raspberry cheesecake from where else? the Cheesecake Factory, my favorite... and thanks to my mom and sister Cristy, Coby's mom and dad and my sweet friend Kacey (who surprised me with a homemade delicious chocolate cheesecake!)... I was spoiled with Cheesecake and I loved it, not to mention, I deserved it dang it! (inside story) and of course Coby spoiled me too with a pirate/princess bday party!

Ok, so he's getting so big, and I'm starting to realize it more this last week (10-25-08). He's the oldest nursing baby we've had and it's been so good for me, cuz it's the only time during the day that I get to sit down... well, with periodic chases after two other boys while feeding him. But, let me tell you, this last week he has only been nursing in the morning and night... cool. But, I realized I am so tired at the end of the day now... it's cuz I'm not stopping and sitting at all anymore! So, now my breaks only come when we are wrestling on the floor, or when I am being tackled to the floor. Crazy. It's so fun, though, and we'll all get used to it someday, right? lol.

Grand Junction Air Show

This is how it started. and this is the exact word for word story that the boys tell everyone, and us all the time at dinner.
"I was sittin on my chair en eatin' my potsicle, when I heared the aiwpwane en it hurt my ears en I get scared!"
and this is what happened, they were both eating their popsicles outside when the blue angels flew overhead and they are super loud and house rattling... and Keedon and Quinton started screaming and dropped their popsicles and in their panic they forgot how to open the sliding screen door and were trying to tear through it, when I came running from the kitchen... they were pastey white with red swollen eyes and screaming that the dinosaurs were going to get us!
It was hilarious, I was laughing so hard and they thought I was just crazy. So, we went out to watch the airplanes practice for the airshow, and the Mayor (who lives accross the street) brought us tickets to take the boys! It was a sure blast!
Keedon watched the airplanes with binoculars (even though they were literally 20 people away)

Quinton had his hands over his ears THE WHOLE TIME.

and Cambel was just content to be eating something, but, loved the planes and would say:

"woooow!"

We went with our friends Kirsten and Tyson and Abbey and new little Jaden

Fruita Fall Festival

So, we all know, Coby doesn't get many Saturdays off, where we are not out of town. But, this one he had off, and we made the most out of it! The morning we spent at the Fruita Fall Festival, and it was fun, but this is the part the boys thought was a blast!

Lake Powell

Cambel's 1st time Standing

So, the weekend after we got back from Utah, California and Las Vegas we went to Lake Powell.

Our friends Laurey and Spencer have a boat down there and they took us and some other friends Jared and Lynnsey down for Labor Day weekend, and it was a total blast! It was also a vacay from our vacay. My mom and my niece Cassy came into town and stayed with Keedon and Quinton for the weekend which the boys LOVED, and we got to hang with Cambel, which he LOVED!

Lake Mead

We went to Lake Mead with CJay and Tiffany and Kody and Becca, they are Cobys college buddies... and it was so fun! We all have kids now, and in fact we all have boys that are the same age! (maybe I could talk Becca into sendin' me a pic of them, she got some good ones!)

The boys all got along great and share their love for sports... and Adi, well, she was definately in charge! We stayed with CJay and Tiff in their beautiful home and stayed up way too late playing games and laughing about the ol' college days and pranks!

Laguna Beach

Our sweet friends gave us the privelage of staying in their awesome beach home. It was so charming and welcoming (& ornately decorated & beautiful)... and at the end of our fun trip we made yummy lemonade and lemon cheesecake tarts from the lemon tree that grew in the front courtyard! It was the time of our lives...! (that's because the boys loved it too!)

We got to share the house with our friends the Hillans, which was good, we thought, cuz we are always looking for time to get together, but, then as you would have it... all our family outings were seperate! There was just soo sooo soo much to do!

California Cousins

In California we got to visit my youngest sister Kory. We had a ton of fun seeing them...Bryson and Cambel are about 3 months apart and were wrestling all over with each other, it was so cute! Lacee was so proud to show off all of her toys and Chandee was so helpful and cute and gave us the run down of life in Cali... we were sad she couldn't go to Seaworld with us cuz she had to visit her new school, but we were so happy to see them! Kory had this amazing breakfast ready for us when we arrived, it was anything you could want all layed out...

We had a blast...

On another night Coby's cousins Breanne and Casey and Justin and Lauren came to visit (they live 20 mins up the coast from Laguna) and they brought the best pizza, wish I could remember from where... it was so fun to see little Benjamin (Breanne and Casey's cute new baby boy) and catch up with everyone, they are so fun and funny!

(Justin is also a Marine and commutes to Camp Pendelton every day)

Sea World

What a fun trip... Coby and I came here once, we'd been married a year, and we never would've thought we'd be bringing 3 kids back here 4 years later!

When we came as a couple it was fun, but, coming to Seaworld with kids, was magical. Their eyes were full of light and excitement all day! It was amazing.

Utah Vacation

It was so fun to see all the Jones family again, we sure do miss them! and some of our kids are around the same age, but we all live in different states! It makes for some fun visiting times!
