Anyone for Farkle?

So, you know when you set out to play Farkle, which is a fun dice game, you want to roll 1's and 5's, and when you toss those dice and produce anything else besides 1's or 5's, you farkle, meaning you are awarded no points and in fact the points you did get that round are forfeited, you lose them.
It seems this weekend all I could roll were 2's and 3's. That was only of course in the game of life. I just farkled.

Chase Weed told me that his sister or sister in law (I can't remember), says that these days she doesn't see things as trials anymore, she sees them as opportunities to blog.

So, here's my opp to blog:

It all began one sunny morning in July.... just kidding... and it wasn't sunny anyway, it was dark.

(Ok, if you know the story, skip to the bottom...to spare yourself some boring reading...)

It was 5:30am, and me and the two youngest Quinton and Cambel took off for Denver to join Amberlyn (Coby's sister) in the temple for her first time. Coby was to come later that night with Keedon and our friend Gaither.

Well, those great plans changed, when our trusty little mini-van (yes, I said mini-van, for those who may not know, we buckled under the smart and sound and economical and convenient pressure of owning a mini, and it's been nothing but awesome for us and 3 little boys), until Thursday. It broke down.
I'll spare the details....

Side of the highway in the mountains, brokendown van, hot weather, animal cookies, dry water bottles, two babies, and oh, yeah, I got hosed with Coolant when I opened the hood, so now we smell like an auto shop while we are waiting...7 hours.

Now, I'll share the detailed workings of our blessings.

When the car died, I was able to coast into a soft shoulder... when there was not one present, miles before or after our hallowed spot.

When we ran out of drinking water, a nice family stopped and refilled our water bottles and our engine with water...

It really didn't get as hot as it could've until late afternoon...

The boys were awesome! We played and (actually) laughed a lot, and I just didn't know I'd remember so many songs with hand gestures!

and to sum it all up, we made it to Coby's parents in time for one of Lynette's yummy meals, and Lee had the perfect place to tow our car to in order to be repaired... we are so blessed to have hookups like these!

And, try to say this wasn't fun when you have these two to keep you company!

OH Brandy! You are amazing and your boys are troopers. I think I would have cried for the entire 7 hours. Way to make the best of a "blogging opp!" :-)

Look how happy those boys look. You are such a great mom to have been able to keep them entertained in such an awful situation. I admire your strength!!

Love lots, C
